Police Unity Tour 2017

“We ride for those who have died.”

From May 9–12, 2017, the GPD Unity Tour team will complete a 300-mile bicycle  ride from New York to Washington, D.C. Goal: Honor over 20,000 law enforcement officers who died in the line of duty.

Each Must Raise $1,850

To participate in the ride, each team member must raise $1,850 for the National Law Enforcement Officer’s Memorial in Washington, D.C. Riders also pay for their travel expenses and use vacation time for the ride. The GPD has ridden with the New York Chapter since 2004.

Honoring Charles Lazzaretto

Twenty years ago in May, Glendale Det. Charles (Chuck) Lazzaretto was brutally killed in the line of duty. He left a wife, two young boys, and close-knit family. We honor Chuck, and his father Andy, with our 2017 ride. Chuck’s father, Andy Lazzaretto, completed the Unity Tour three times to honor his son. He passed away in 2016.
